Equine Veterinarian
Location: Pilot Point, Texas
Position Overview
A growing and highly respected equine veterinary practice in North Texas is seeking an experienced and motivated Equine Veterinarian with a strong interest in internal medicine and reproduction.
This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys managing complex medical and reproductive cases, developing meaningful client relationships and building a long-term practice within an established equine community. As the practice continues to grow, the selected veterinarian will have the autonomy and support to develop their own client base while collaborating with an experienced clinical team.
The practice serves a diverse equine population, including performance horses, breeding operations and recreational horses, and is committed to delivering progressive, evidence-based medicine with a personalized approach to patient and client care.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, treat and manage equine internal medicine cases.
Provide comprehensive reproductive and breeding-management services.
Conduct mare reproductive examinations and ultrasonography.
Manage breeding cycles and perform artificial insemination.
Perform pregnancy diagnosis and address reproductive complications.
Coordinate and perform equine embryo-transfer procedures, including:
Mare synchronization
Ovulation induction and management
Embryo collection
Embryo transfer
Post-transfer monitoring and care
Perform follicular aspiration procedures.
Conduct stallion reproductive evaluations.
Provide preventive and general equine care, including:
Wellness examinations
Vaccinations
Coggins testing
Basic herd-health management
Educate and advise clients regarding medical, reproductive and breeding decisions.
Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians and support staff to ensure exceptional standards of care.
Participate in a shared, rotating emergency-coverage schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary school.
Active Texas veterinary license or the ability to obtain Texas licensure before beginning employment.
Eligibility to work legally in the United States.
Demonstrated clinical experience in equine veterinary medicine.
Strong diagnostic and case-management abilities.
Experience in equine reproduction, breeding management and reproductive ultrasonography.
Advanced training in equine internal medicine, reproduction or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, or ACVIM, or the American College of Theriogenologists, or ACT, is preferred but not required.
Board-eligible candidates and veterinarians currently completing an applicable residency are encouraged to apply.
